Girls’ dormitory for Olandi Primary School

Our biggest project in 2026 was building a girls’ dormitory at Olandi Primary School. Since the school did not have enough sleeping facilities for girls, they had to walk to school every day, sometimes covering several kilometers. On top of that, the high density of wildlife often leads to deadly encounters with lions or elephants.

By building the dormitory, we are able to provide 96 girls with a safe place to learn and live at their school. At the same time, we protect the children from the dangers of the often several-kilometer-long journey to school and ensure adequate nutrition. With this, we have a very high positive impact on many generations of schoolgirls with this project.

We designed our dormitory together with local architects to build as sustainably and locally as possible. Here, we worked with our on-site team and architects to further develop the design of our first dormitory. Many thanks to all the supporters for this project.

Sleeping and washing facilities for 96 girls

96 girls can thus attend the boarding school and no longer have to commute daily, they have daily meals and a safe learning environment.

Boarding schools increase the chances of good school qualifications and thus possibly a scholarship for university.
