Ablution block with 5 new toilets

Thanks to your help, we were able to build a new washroom and toilet building at Lemasusu Primary School in winter 2024. The school had no toilets for its 88 girls, who had to do their business in the bush. Due to its remote location in the Chyulu Hills, with its high wildlife population, this created great danger for the girls, as elephants and lions, among others, regularly invade the school grounds.

Thanks to the help of the Big Girls Foundation and our donors, we were able to build enough clean toilets for the school’s 88 girls. The new toilets not only improve hygiene, but also reduce unpleasant odors and create a healthier environment for the students. This has enabled us to significantly improve the students’ learning environment, reduce germ-related illnesses, and, above all, create important conditions for girls to attend school even during their periods. At the same time, investments of this kind also demonstrate the value of nature conservation to the school community and make a significant contribution to preserving the ecosystem.
